Description

We will consider what it was like to live in the Roman Empire, particularly the difficulties faced by early followers of Jesus.

By exploring present-day archaeological sites, we will learn about the aspects of Roman city life that formed the backdrop for the spread of the Gospel.

We will also explore how life in the Roman Empire shaped the way Bible writers, like Paul, communicated the Good News of Jesus. By using word pictures and imagery familiar to their audiences, these writers conveyed powerful messages that continue to challenge us to live faithfully for Jesus today.
